Top 5 Workout Videos

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with working out at home. It’s super convenient, but sometimes working out is a nice escape from your surroundings, you know what I mean? All you’re concentrating on is the workout; no exams, no drama, just you and your yoga mat/bike/whatever. It’s brilliant! So when I do fancy a good sweat every now and then, these are some of my favourite videos to use.

Blogilates is the QUEEN of Youtube fitness, amirite?! Cassey is so positive and happy, it makes me so happy to watch her videos! I’d definitely reccommend having a scroll through her uploads. Another one, not so well known, is Rinka Essel, I love how simple and straight to the point her videos are!

  1. Blogilates – Stretching for Flexibility: My favourite warm-up video. It is kind of weird seeing 2011 Cassey, but it’s even better seeing how much her business and channel has grown! I make sure to do this before every workout to ensure no pulled muscles!
  2. Blogilates – 5 Minute Arms: Arms are definitely my favourite thing to work out. I really don’t like ab workouts, they just hurt my back and make me feel a bit nauseous! Sorry, digressing. This arms video is a KILLER, but the feeling afterwards is incredible!
  3. Blogilates Arm PIIT: So Cassey has invented PIIT, a mixture of Pilates and HIIT. It is SO MUCH FUN and definitely my new favourite workout! Such effective, much quick.
  4. Blogilates Booty PIIT: And the other PIIT! This one is slightly easier, I find, don’t ask me why! Maybe I just have really weak arms haha 🙂
  5. Rinka Essel 5 Minute Morning Yoga: This one is a great one to do on a day you know you’ll won’t be working out. Even if you start your lazy Sunday doing this, it will freshen you up! Super simple, easy instructions, it’s a win for me!

Nature Photography Tips for Complete Beginners

Even though I’ve been writing this blog for over a year and a half, I’m still an absolute novice with my camera. I’m going to be absolutely honest, I rarely take it off auto. Yeah, I know. Shock horror. Am I a bad excuse of a blogger? Maybe. But hey, sometimes I do actually get some good shots on auto. And I’m going to show you how! I especially love nature photography but if you guys enjoy it, maybe I can turn it into a little series, including fashion and products? Oooh let me know! First, here are some examples of my work (oooh how faaancy)


Quite proud of them, not going to lie! Anyway, we begin…

  1. Zoooooom

Don’t ask me why, don’t ask me how but zoom gets me these awesome blurred backgrounds! I mean LOOK at the second sheep! It also makes the focused item of the photos appear quite crisp and sharp, which is never a bad thing, I think! So, have a little play with the zoom on your camera! Although personally I wouldn’t recommend it on phones as it loses its quality very quickly!

2. Use the angle

You see the one of the sea ( 😉 ) I took? I used the grass to really deepen the photo (I sound like I know what I’m saying but I really don’t). It also normally adds some more colour and texture to ya girl’s photos, and that’s good too. It also means you don’t have to stand on tip toes to avoid anything in the foreground!

3. Keep it natural

I love the composition of the lambs in the first picture, it’s very natural, as if they don’t know that someone if photographing them. Personally, this is my nature style of choice because it show the raw beauty of these cute little fluffy t’ings. See what interesting compositions you can get!

4. Snappin’ til you drop

Take multiple photos, even if the one on the tiny camera screen looks in focus, you want to be able to have options! The amount of times I’ve only taken one photo and it would have looked SO good if it was in focus haha!

Keeping Productive and Organised

Ok, so it’s nearly mid January and well…this is where it all starts going downhill, isn’t it? Those early morning runs become tedious, the sheer volumes of low-fat yoghurt and berries you consume is bringing you down. Your New Year Resolutions seem even harder to achieve! So here are my tips for keeping that refreshed, productive New Year feeling, enjoy!


  1. Personal Notes in Your Diary

Basically, buy the cutest most colourful pens ever and doodle and write cute little quotes all over the pages of your diary. I’ve done Bible quotes, healthy eating quotes and just general YOU GO GIRL vibes to make my diary fun! I have this one from the Works, which was only £1.50! Fun fact, when taking this to the till there was no price ticket on it so the girl only charged me £1, but being the good person I am ( 😉 ) I checked the price and gave the extra 50p! Honesty for the win, bebz 🙂

2. A New Font

Not gonna lie, fonts are my jam. Pretty handwritten ones, big block ones, all of them! I find using a fun font at the beginning of essays or revision time tables really inspires me to work hard. Here’s a screenshot of my biology timetable. Some of my favourites are Soymilk (sample in my biology table below), LillyBelle and Sweet Pea. DaFont and 1001fonts are great places to source those Pinterest-esque fonts.

3. Organise Your Drawers

That feeling of opening clean and tidy drawers is soooo satisfying. It’s also a great chance to donate unwanted clothes to charity, or sell on eBay or Depop. By the way, what does everyone think of Depop? So far I’ve heard good and bad about it!

4. “Streamline”

Now this is a new technique of mine. Streamlining, and by this I mean simplifying things. Us humans like to make errrrrrything way too complicated and hard work. Now I do believe in hard work, but the simple life does things not just for your mental health but physical too. For example, why do we need 12 makeup products just for school? Mascara. Lipbalm. Brows. Done! Takes less time, is less expensive, and there’s less chance of getting eyeliner smudges or lipstick rubbing off. Or, running with no music. No hassle of trying to reach the next button and skipping a track, or checking for texts every 5 minutes. Just you, your trainers and nature. Sounds good, right? I am in no way a therapist or life counseller or whatever, just a girl trying new things out.

The Wake Me Up Shower

Hi guys! So, personally, I’m definitely more into the the rejuvenating “zesty” sort of shower, rather than a relaxing bath. Don’t get me wrong, after a workout or a long week the best thing for your muscles and mind is a hot bubble bath. But feeling fresh is such a good feeling! Today I’m sharing my wake me up shower routine and products…enjoy!

So first, I like to tidy my room for a max. of 10 minutes, especially if my shower is at night. It clears your mind, and you know you’re not coming back to a messy place! This is also a bit weird but Twinings Winter Spice Tea is SO fragrant, that I use it as a bit of a room scent! I just brew it whilst in the shower, and my room smells incredible afterwards. And you get a drink as well, what’s there not to love?

Now, shower time! Brush your hair so the shampoo can slip out of your hair easily, whack your towels on the radiator and jump in the shower! I wash my hair with Head & Shoulders as this seems to be the only thing that my senstive scalp can handle! Particularly I like the itchy scalp shampoo and apple fresh conditioner. Next, shower gel! I love using the Radox Men’s 2in1 Shower Gel. It’s smells so fresh and delicous, seriously give it a waft next time you’re in a supermarket/drugstore!

After my shower I love to slather on loads on coconut oil. I find it’s quite a good inexpensive (as long it’s not organic) moisturiser for ma bodyyy. I personally use BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP, but any one will do.

Then short pyjamas are my favourite as I get really hot at night, then I remove my remaining makeup with the Simple Micellar Water, wash my face, then apply Nivea Soft Cream. Then a bit of reading and praying, and that’s me out for the night!

My New Year Resolutions

Hi! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas! Mine was lovely and relaxing. Today I’m talking about my new year’s resolutions. You know those things that we always say we’re going to do then don’t? Yeah, this year’s gonna be different, babe. Let me know what your resolutions are and we can keep track and encourage each other! 🙂

  1. Learn basic Spanish

I never told you guys that I’m going on an expedition to Costa Rica and Nicaragua in 2017 with my school! It’s very very VERY exciting! But the thing is, I’m taking French, not Spanish which is what these two countries speak! Especially as we’re going to be out in the countryside building schools and trekking so it’s not going to be like the locals will understand us. So I’m using my Duolingo app to ease into it, just 5-10 minutes a day, and we’ll see how it goes! I also really love the sound of Spanish, it’s so exciting and party-like, if you know what I mean. Hopefully my experience with French will help me out a little bit.

2. Get my fitness levels up

Geeeeez, my fitness has gone down this year. Especially since I stopped running every weekend and doing yoga. I used to have pretty good lines on my tummy, but….they seem to have ran away 😉 I also need to up it for my expedition, as there will be volcano hikes and even a 5 day trek through a rainforest, and I definitely won’t be able to do that currently! I’m hoping to continue swimming and possibly start running and proper working out, as in pilates or HIIT.

3. Possibly try out church

Growing up in a pretty much non-Christian household means I’ve never been able to go to church. It also seems that we’re always busy on Sundays! But there is a local church in my village which I think I’ll trial, even if it’s a fortnightly or even monthly thing, I’ll be satisfied. I’ll definitely report back on this!

4. Science grades

I’ve let my science grades slip this year, especially Biology and Physics. I’m ok-ish at Chemistry, but I’m still going to be working on it! I’m averaging about a higher-tier C, which isn’t a fail but isn’t what I’d like! You’ve gotta reach for the stars climb every mountain higher
