Lottie’s Life: Beautiful Flowers and New Trainers!

Hey everyone! How are we all doing? This week has been pretty cool, but it’s still soooo cold. Yet it hasn’t snowed? Like, what? That’s just teasing me. Anyways, my mum’s friend bought my mum some flowers and I gave them a little photo shoot! They were just too lovely!

How pretty are they?!?! At the weekend my mum and I went shopping in town and we went to Sweat Shop. We have this PruHealth thingy (technical term) that means we get 50% off a pair of trainers for each of us! How cool is that? I got these asics ones which were originally £95, reduced to £50 in the sale then I got 50% off of that so they ended up being £25! Uh I’m so excited to try them out!

If you were wondering they are the GT 1000 2 model, which you can find on the asics website here.

Well, that’s all from me this week me lovelies, I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Tell me what you’ve been up to! Do you like my new snazzy trainers?

Lottie’s Life: Lemon Poppy Seed Cake and Winter Walks

Hallo loves! Sorry for the lack of Lottie’s Life last week, getting back into the routine of school is harder than you think! And I literally realised a few minutes after my New Year’s Resolutions post went up that I didn’t do a December Favs, let alone 2014 favs! So sorry! It didn’t even cross my mind. I’m not doing too well at the moment, am I? Don’t worry, I’ll sort myself out! Let’s crack on 🙂

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Lottie's Life Cake

I made this beauty on Saturday night. You know when you don’t what to do so you just bake? That was me. This is a Lemon and Lime Poppy Seed Drizzle Cake. And, if I don’t say so myself, it was pretty tasty. So tasty I may have had 2 slices (or 3, or 4…come on no one counts after the 2nd slice) It was a Lorraine Pascale recipe from her Fast, Fresh and Easy Food cook book. It is such an amazing book! The instructions are so simple to follow, and the recipes are delicious! But, be warned, when Lorraine says drizzle, she means drizzle. I had to make 2 batches of the icing to get to my version of a drizzle!

I have to say this actually wasn’t this week, it was a few weeks ago. But I didn’t think a piece of cake was a good enough blog post so I thought I’d throw these pics in here! This was a beautiful walk my family and friends went on. The icy puddles were so pretty and I can’t believe how cute this camper van is that we saw in the car park!

What have you been up to this week? How’s 2015 going so far? Let me know!

Lottie’s Life: Gingerbread House and Festival of Light!

Hallo loves. This week has been a busy one, lots of present wrapping and decorating for Christmas! On Saturday my sister, her friend and I made this BEAUTIFUL gingerbread house. We bought it from IKEA, but we were a bit disappointed as we were expecting the icing and jellies to be included in the box…but they weren’t! Luckily, they did put a recipe for icing on the sleeve of the packet, otherwise I would have had no idea how to make it! The recipe was a bit strange though, I don’t think I’ve ever put egg whites and icing sugar in one sentence before, let alone a recipe!

On Sunday night my family and I went to a festival we had heard about, a festival of light. We didn’t really know what to expect really, but it was pretty good! Basically, we all stood around with hot chocolates to warm our hands in the town square, and then a crowd of people walked through with these paper lanterns that they’d made. There was also this sort of spiritual drums bashing in the background, bit weird but ok. The big Christmas Tree was also lit, soooooo pretty! We only stayed for about an hour, but I still really enjoyed it!

Lottie’s Life: Christmas Decs and Feeling Poorly

Hello lovely people. Guess what day it is? THURSDAY. And what does that mean? ANOTHER INSTALLATION OF LOTTIE’S LIFE. Who’s excited? *raises both hands* This week my family put up our Christmas Decs, I mean how much prettier do things look with fairy lights and sparkly bits of plastic?! I also had to take a day off school unfortunately because I was feeling poorly. But that did mean infinite amount of hours watching videos of dogs on Youtube and aspiring to have photography like The Love Cats Inc and  A BEAUTIFUL MESS.  I guess that sort of made up for the amounts of tissues and paracetamol I had!

Lottie’s Life – Black Friday Shopping and Advent Calendars!

Happy Thursday everyone! How are we? Good good. This week’s installment of #LottiesLife is getting festive…even more than my last couple! Oooo also thank you so much for liking last week’s Lottie’s Life so much! That was my best day for likes on one post EVER! Thank you! On with zee show…

On Friday 28th my mum, sister and I went Christmas Shopping after our (my sister and I’s) guitar exam. We went straight into town after the exam and started shopping. ON BLACK FRIDAY. To be fair though, it wasn’t too busy. I think Black Friday has become more of a ‘thing’ this year in the UK, which means more sales! Most of the shops were doing like a 10 or 20% off but we walked past GAP and it was a whooping 50% OFF EVERYTHING! We got excited. Quite a bit excited.

I got the white jumper for £17.47 (originally £34.95), the navy top for £9.47 (originally £18.95) and the beanie for £7.47 (originally £14.95). So I got all these items for less than the original price of the jumper…HOW COOL IS THAT. *high five* Each item is really good quality and can’t you just imagine the jumper and the beanie together with like a dark khaki coat on a cold Christmas Day walk? FABULOUS, darling, FABULOUS. But you had to pay a (metaphorical and real) price for such good stuff. The queue to the checkout was so long, they had to close the store so the queue didn’t get any longer, it was that bad. Literally a guy working there was at the door sending people away and only opening the door to let people in the queue out once they’d paid. Uh-huh, you heard (or read) me.

I GOT MY ADVENT CALENDARRRR. How exciting is that? I actually got it a couple weeks ago but I thought I’d still show you guys 🙂 Oh it hasn’t had any doors opened because I took this photo at the weekend. Gotta love me some Pooh Bear.

Well my lovely ones, hope you enjoyed that post. Sorry for the lack of photos, I rarely had my camera with me when I needed it! Did anyone spot my beanie from Monday’s November Favourites? Brownie points to you! Hope you are having a good week, what have you been up to?

Lottie’s Life – Gingerbread and Cute Dogs!

Welcome to another addition of Lottie’s Life! Sorry about not doing this series last week, school got pretty busy.So last weekend Grandma came round and we did some Christmassy baking. My mum got this little recipe leaflet with her Prima magazine so we used the gingerbread men recipe and white chocolate and cranberry shortbread. We didn’t have any white chocolate so we had to use dark chocolate, but both recipes tasted AMAZING!

The shortbread didn’t exactly stay as Christmas trees and snowflakes…but heyho.

On Saturday 22nd we went round our friend’s house. And I may or may not have brought my camera round so I could take some photos of their adorable Cocker Spaniel Hugo….course not. Obviously, I had to sneak in a couple of Poppy (my dog, also a Cocker Spaniel). Enjoy…

Hope you enjoyed that little sneak peek into my week, see ya!

Lottie’s Life – Spirit of Christmas Fair!

Well hello, lovely internet friends. Surprised to see me? Yay! That’s because I’m starting a new series on mt blog, Lottie’s Life It’s basically a mid-week diary from the last week that I’ll post on Wednesday. This week’s issue (doesn’t that sound posh?!) is about a recent fair I went to. I probably won’t do this intro every week, just crack on with the show, but I thought I’d explain this week why I popped up out of the blue 🙂

Soooooo on Sunday 9th November my mum and I headed to the train station to catch a train to London! We were so lucky, the train was pretty busy so we were standing in the ‘corridor’ and one of the train guards walked past and said we could sit in First Class. I was very excited, to put it mildly. Plus there was only one other guy sat in our carriage, so we basically had the whole section to ourselves! When we got to Paddington we took the tube to the Olympia in Kensington. The Olympia is basically a huuuuuge venue for special events. My mum had somehow wangled us free tickets to the Travel Fair which meant we could also go into the Spirit of Christmas Fair.

Firstly we went into the Travel Fair, which was ok but a lot of the holidays advertised were like super duper 5* at-least-£300-a-night places so that didn’t really appeal to us. But on the plus side, we did get to enter lots of competitions to win holidays! We also had our free drinks in the posh champagne bar, where this fancy French guy explained to me the different flavours of Belvoir. You know, the usual.

lotsoflovelottieblogspiritofxmas1

THEN. And that’s a big then. We went over to the Spirit of Christmas Fair which was fantastic! We started off by walking around the food section on the higher level. We tested a lot of the samples, and all were delicious! Sadly I forgot to take any photos at this point, sorry.

lotsoflovelottieblogspiritofxmas2

After the food section we headed down to the gifts etc. There were a lot of stands! Obviously my favourites were the Christmas ones. We stayed there for a couple hours before heading out of the venue for some lunch! We found this Persian restaurant  called YAS (I think). I ordered the chicken open sandwich and it was HUGE! But, very yummy all the same 😉 My mum had these lamb things, but I didn’t get to try it as I don’t eat lamb.

lotsoflovelottieblogspiritofxmas6

lotsoflovelottieblogspiritofxmas5

After lunch we headed back into the fair and looked around a few more stalls. But how cool is this dress that was on display?!

lotsoflovelottieblogspiritofxmas3

At the end of the day a lot of the stalls started doing really good bargains. I got these macaroon ornaments for £1 for three and these little mushroom decorations that said 2 for £1 but the guy gave me an extra one for free! Thank you random stranger!

lotsoflovelottieblogspiritofxmas4

Well that was a pretty perfect day – Christmas, shopping, London and FOOD all wrapped into one! I really enjoyed it, I’m relly grateful that I am able to go to places like this. What were you up to last week? Let me know!

Lots of Love,

Lottie ♥
