DIY Fishtail Bracelet

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Fishtail 5

I laaaaarve stacking bracelets in the summer. It’s so golden-Cali-beach-babe it makes me way too excited than I should be. It’s even better when it doesn’t really matter if you lose the bracelets because they were so affordable! Today’s DIY is a fishtail bracelet, and I’m sorta in love with it. Enjoy!

MATERIALS

Embroidery threads – in as many colours as you like (I’m using 4) Mine are from Poundworld and are pretty good quality!

Scissors – well, obvs.

Tape or clip – to hold the bracelet whilst you’re ‘braiding’

HOW TO MAKE THE LOVELINESS

1.Cut all your embroidery threads. The length should be just over half your ‘wingspan’, if ya feel me. Just hold your arm out horizontal to your shoulder , hold the end of of the thread, pull to the center of your chest. That’s half your wingspan. Do double for a bracelet that wraps around twice.

2. Once all your threads are cut, hold them together and fold them in half.

3. Tie a knot at the top.

4. Now onto braiding: separate your threads like shown below. If you have more than maybe 6 colours you can just braid in random threads. The bracelet will still look cool but will be easier to braid.

5. Fold in the outer threads one at a time, just like you would braiding a fishtail on your hair. It will take a little time for the bracelet to start holding by itself but once it does, you can hold the threads in your hands rather than on the table/desk/clipboard.

Et voila! Your beautiful new bracelet is ready to wear! Once you start practising you’ll be whacking these bad boys out like there’s no tomorrow. Oh, the life of a Pinterest obsessed generation, eh?

Have you ever made a bracelet? Let me know! I’d love some new designs!

Lots of Love,

Lottie ♥

What I Got for My Birthday 2015

Well heyyyy Internet friends! How ya doin? It’s kind of crazy how excited I am for Spring, I can’t wait for it to be ok to eat Mini Eggs 24/7. I had a lovely lovely lovely birthday on Thursday, we went out for a Chinese for dinner. Thinking about it now, it probably wasn’t such a good idea for a veggie. All well! Then on Friday I had friends round and we went bowling (which I totally won at, NOT) and cooked homemade pizzas. It’s the simple things like rolling out pizza dough with friends that I find really fun!

Anyway, let’s move on to what I received for ma burfday. As always, I’m not showing off blah di blah and I compressed this post down compared to my What I Got For Christmas so sorry if your present isn’t shown, family and friends, it’s just this post would get prettyyy boring and long! I still love every single prezzie I got 🙂

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Birthday Anchor Earrings

These earrings are from my sister and purchased at a local jewellers, but I’m sure you can find similar anchors elsewhere!

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Birthday Bikini Johnnie B

This gorgeous bikini is from my lovely Grandma and is from Johhnie B. Their bikinis are always good quality but beware that they can come up small, designed for tanned slim beach goddesses like yours truly, obvs.

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Birthday Books

The top book is Chocolate-Covered Katie recipe book, which has lots of healthy desserts and breakfasts in it, written by the foodie blogger Katie herself. Love, Tanya is written by Tanya Burr and is a good flick-in-whenever-you-want sort of book. Deliciously Ella is written by a lovely blogger who goes by the same name. This book is very very healthy but her sweet potato brownies do look intriguing! And Green & Black’s Chocolate Recipes will make you DROOL with their choc-notch (get it? haha) recipes.

My parents got me this advent calendar. Yes, it is from Christmas, but it still means I get 24 mini Ciaté nail polishes! Including the gorgeous colour above called ‘amazing grace’ which to me looks like a dupe for Essie’s Fiji. Yay!

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Birthday Felt Tips

Anyone who buys me colourful pens I will love forever. Nothing else to say apart from, if someone buys you Crayola, never let go of them. EVER.

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Birthday Sand in a Bottle

My aunt and uncle got this bottle filled with sand from my favourites beach Sandbanks in Dorset. I think it’s such a cute and easy gift, thank you very much!

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Birthday Miranda and Bird

The Miranda DVD is from my sister’s Godparents and I cannot WAIT to watch it! The little bird is from  one of my best friends and I was so touched when she gave this to me with a cute little message.

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Birthday China Box

My parents gave me this adorable box filled of stuff to take to China with me! Yes, they got me porridge. But everything is so cute, merci mamma et papa!

And that’s a wrap! I am so so so SO grateful for all my lovely gifts, I couldn’t ask for better friends and family. Ok soppy moment over, have a great weekend everyone!

February Favourites 2015

Ooooo the birds are chirping, the daffodils are sat next to me and Mini Eggs are on sale… Spring must be on it’s way! And it’s only 3 DAYS TIL MY BIRTHDAY (just in case you didn’t know). I’m in such a good mood! Such a good mood, that I’m not going to let you read any more waffle. Horrah!

I got these jeans from a huge Boden sale for only £10! They’re from the Johnnie B range and they feel like such good quality, a bit like Topshop super stretch jeans. And how cute is the anchor pattern?!

This tea is a great dupe for the Teapigs Peppermint and Licorice tea, except cheaper. It’s not quite as sweet and you do have to wait an agonising 5 minutes for it to brew. But it’s well worth it in the end! So if you’ve heard great things about the Teapigs tea but don’t want to fork out £5 for it, this is a great alternative.

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Feb Favs Jack Wills Mist

I love this Jack Wills Hope Cove Body Mist! I got this mist, along with two others, in a gift set for Christmas and this is definitely my favourite one. It’s quite ‘teenagery-slash-young-adulty’ but still smells pretty darn good.

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Feb Favs Bear Slippers

They’re fluffy, bear slippers in the sale at Sainsburys. Do I need to say much more?

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Feb Favs Daffodils 1

I love having fresh flowers around, especially when they’re £1 a bunch! Daffodils are definitely making me excited for Spring, so lovely and bright! What are your favourite Spring flowers?

Well that’s it for today’s post, you lovely lot. But here’s a clue for next week’s post…has something to do with BIRTHDAYS and HAUL? Can ya guess? Let’s hope I can get the photos taken in the 3 days after my birthday :/

Lots of Love,

Lottie ♥
