Lush Dashing Santa Bath Bomb

Hi everyone! So today I’m doing my first Lush review! I’ve only ever tried a small selection of Lush’s products, so when I won Charlotte’s giveaway, I was very excited! She sent me a beautifully wrapped box of goodies, including an extra gift of Dashing Santa. Honestly, that girl is so lovely! I haven’t actually used this bath bomb in my bath yet, I’m saving it for Christmas Eve. So let’s get into the review!

Dashing Santa

I love the shape and colours of this bath bomb, although looking on the website the red in their photos are definitely more prominent and defined, so don’t be fooled by any of those marketing tactics! They’re more pastel coloured, in my opinion. ‘He’ is full of sweet citrus scents, making it a fresh, rejuventaing sort of bath bomb. Perfect for Christmas Morning, I think! He’d be perfect for girls who want to delve into the depth that is bath bombs, super cute and not too expensive!

Overall, I think Dashing Santa smells and looks like a lovely bath bomb and is perfect for this winter! Actually can we talk about how mild it is outside? I walked my dog this morning with just a thin jumper and body warmer. Say, what? Is it actually December, or did I miss a few months and we skipped to February without me realising?

So this is my last post before the New Year, so I will wish you guys a blessed Christmas and Happy 2016! How weird is that? 2016? That’s like some distant supernatural universe haha!

Lots of Love,

Lottie ♥

Christmas Nails!

Hi guys! First Christmas post this year yesssss. Who’s excited? I am. So, the Christmas season is the perfect time to up your nail game, to let those sparkly talons out in public, because any other time of year they’re probably bare, bitten and possibly dirty. Mmmm mm. Yummy. So here are my favourites!

Christmas Nails

So this first one is a beeeeeautiful classic red from Nails Inc that came with an InStyle magazine last year. I love how it’s so simple yet so lovely! It’s called It’s Red Babez. What a classy name. An alternative to this is Essie Fifth Avenue or if you’re looking for a more budget friendly option is Barry M Gelly Red.

This glitter. Guys. It’s laaaavely (have you noticed the extreme use of letters today, soz). I got this in a Ciaté Advent Calendar. It’s called Ciaté Sequin Dallas Dolly. Wow, they really are running out of names for nail polishes. Actually, this isn’t even a real polish, it’s gold, green and red glitter in a bottle. No ‘liquid’. Just a good ol’ bottle of Christmas Spirit, really. Then, put these two together with a tonne of top coat, and you’ve got yourself some pretty stellar festive nails. Thank me later.

What are you’re favourite Christmas polishes? I’d love some reccommendations!

What I Got For Christmas 2014

Hello! How was everyone’s Christmases? I had a lovely day as we invited some friends round for Christmas Dinner and OH IT WAS GLORIOUS. Today I am showing you What I Got For Christmas, and I’m pretty sure I’ve forgotten some things so sorry to whoever bought me those and they weren’t mentioned! All of these presents are a mix of stockings and gifts from friends and family. Now, just the same as every other Youtuber/Blogger that does this post, I AM IN NO WAY BRAGGING OR SHOWING OFF WHAT I GOT. I really am so appreciative of all I have, not just presents but my family, friends, and beliefs too. I hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas, and let’s get on with the show! Lots of Love Lottie Blog Xmas 2014 1

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Merry Christmas 1

Hi guys. Just a quick note to wish you a very merry Christmas. I am so thankful that I am able to run a blog, I think of the children in Africa who have nothing and it makes me realise just how blessed I am. I am going to take today to thank God for all he has given me, I am so happy that I can live a life like I can. Please try to remember the real meaning of Christmas, this holiday is so over commercialized that we need to take a moment and just be so so so thankful.

Bless you and your family, Merry Christmas!!!!

DIY Christmas Cards

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Xmas Cards 2
Hello sweet children. All good? I’m freaking out just a tiny bit as Christmas IS ONLY 3 DAYS AWAY ADJSKICLDILX. So if you’re one of those last minute sort of people, this post it for YOU my friend. These cards are so so so simple to make and really inexpensive, you can actually get all the materials from Poundland/Poundworld/99p Store (or somewhere like that). Enjoy!

YOU WILL NEED:

Plain white cards – Poundland or somewhere similar

Christmas felt shapes – mine is a snowflake garland from Poundland

Glue stick or tacky/pva glue

Ribbon – mine came in the garland pack

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Xmas Cards 1

Simply play around with your shapes, I even used the ribbon that came in the garland pack. Then using the glue, stick them onto your cards. Let them dry for at least 30 minutes to be safe. Here are some designs I came up with:

Later I also Sharpied some designs on, but unfortunately some of them have personal messages on them so I can only show you a couple. Sorry! Here are the pens I used.

Enjoy lovely ones! I know this is not a proper diy, but I thought I’d still give you some inspiration! What are your favourite card diys? Have you left it last minute (yes, you!) ?

Healthier Gingerbread Hot Chocolate Recipe

Well hello lovely ones. How are we? Christmassy? Good. I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen with cocoa powder and syrup…aye it’s a hard life for me. I am proud to say this is my own little baby of a recipe, come up in my own little mind! The ingredients to this super easy yet super delicious recipe are very simple, and I’ve given you a few alternatives in case you don’t have the ingredients and can’t be bothered to pop to Tesco in your pyjamas.  Enjoy, my little cocoa truffles (I’m practically Nicole Scherzinger in the Muller adverts)

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Gingerbread Hot Chocolate 1

YOU WILL NEED:

1 heaped teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon of sweetener (I use Truvia)

1/2-3/4 teaspoon gingerbread syrup

mug of milk

INSTEAD OF…

unsweetened cocoa powder – sweetened but leave out sweetener

gingerbread syrup – pinch of ground ginger and tiny pinch of cinnamon (but you won’t get the same smooth texture as syrup)

*I know syrup isn’t completely healthy, so that’s why it’s called a ‘healthier’ version!*

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Gingerbread Hot Chocolate 4

METHOD:

1. Add heaped teaspoon of cocoa powder to empty mug

2. Add a dash of cold milk and stir to create a paste

3. Add milk to fill mug up and stir gently

4. Whack in microwave until hot (mine took 2 minutes)

5. Once hot, add in half teaspoon sweetener and  half/ three quarters teaspoon  gingerbread syrup (or spices)

6. STIR STIR STIR

7. Add whipped cream if you like, and enjoy!

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Gingerbread Hot Chocolate 3

^^sneaky mince pie….. ;)^^

I know what you’re saying: “but Lottie, syrup has sugar in it!”. I know. As I mentioned earlier, this is a healthier hot choc, not no-dairy-vegan-sugar-free version. Uh-huh.

Are you going to try this out? What’s your favourite flavour of hot chocolate? Let me know!

Lots of Love,

Lottie ♥

Lottie’s Life: Christmas Decs and Feeling Poorly

Hello lovely people. Guess what day it is? THURSDAY. And what does that mean? ANOTHER INSTALLATION OF LOTTIE’S LIFE. Who’s excited? *raises both hands* This week my family put up our Christmas Decs, I mean how much prettier do things look with fairy lights and sparkly bits of plastic?! I also had to take a day off school unfortunately because I was feeling poorly. But that did mean infinite amount of hours watching videos of dogs on Youtube and aspiring to have photography like The Love Cats Inc and  A BEAUTIFUL MESS.  I guess that sort of made up for the amounts of tissues and paracetamol I had!

Lottie’s Life – Black Friday Shopping and Advent Calendars!

Happy Thursday everyone! How are we? Good good. This week’s installment of #LottiesLife is getting festive…even more than my last couple! Oooo also thank you so much for liking last week’s Lottie’s Life so much! That was my best day for likes on one post EVER! Thank you! On with zee show…

On Friday 28th my mum, sister and I went Christmas Shopping after our (my sister and I’s) guitar exam. We went straight into town after the exam and started shopping. ON BLACK FRIDAY. To be fair though, it wasn’t too busy. I think Black Friday has become more of a ‘thing’ this year in the UK, which means more sales! Most of the shops were doing like a 10 or 20% off but we walked past GAP and it was a whooping 50% OFF EVERYTHING! We got excited. Quite a bit excited.

I got the white jumper for £17.47 (originally £34.95), the navy top for £9.47 (originally £18.95) and the beanie for £7.47 (originally £14.95). So I got all these items for less than the original price of the jumper…HOW COOL IS THAT. *high five* Each item is really good quality and can’t you just imagine the jumper and the beanie together with like a dark khaki coat on a cold Christmas Day walk? FABULOUS, darling, FABULOUS. But you had to pay a (metaphorical and real) price for such good stuff. The queue to the checkout was so long, they had to close the store so the queue didn’t get any longer, it was that bad. Literally a guy working there was at the door sending people away and only opening the door to let people in the queue out once they’d paid. Uh-huh, you heard (or read) me.

I GOT MY ADVENT CALENDARRRR. How exciting is that? I actually got it a couple weeks ago but I thought I’d still show you guys 🙂 Oh it hasn’t had any doors opened because I took this photo at the weekend. Gotta love me some Pooh Bear.

Well my lovely ones, hope you enjoyed that post. Sorry for the lack of photos, I rarely had my camera with me when I needed it! Did anyone spot my beanie from Monday’s November Favourites? Brownie points to you! Hope you are having a good week, what have you been up to?

DIY Christmas/Winter Mood Board

Gooooood morning/afternoon/evening my lovely ones. Today we have a DIY to get you in the Christmassy mood. What do you mean it’s too early for Christmas?! I swear some Youtubers had their decs up in October. Anyways, back to my point. This DIY is a mood board with a Winter theme. It’s so easy to do, yet so effective! So, have a jolly good go at making one and if you want, send me a pic on my Twitter or Facebook! In a while, crocodile….

Lots of Lottie Blog Xmas Mood Board6

I was getting a bit bored of my quote on my blackboard (yes that is Remi Ashten’s quote 😉 ) and I was feeling a bit creative, this is what happened! I really like how it brings all the loveliness of Christmas/Winter/Fashion/Instagram-edited-photos into one!

YOU NEED:

Lots of Lottie Blog Xmas Mood Board3

Christmas/Winter Magazine – White/Blue Tack – Scissors – Plain Board

*I used my old black board but as it’s not a permanent DIY, you can use pretty much anything. For example a photo frame, canvas, paper…

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Xmas Mood Board2

Lots of Love Lottie Blog Xmas Mood Board7

1. Start by cleaning your surface. I literally just used some wet tissue to wipe off the blackboard pen (if you’re feeling confused, it’s a white board that’s black, just to clear things up). Let dry naturally or dry with dry tissue.

2. Search through all your December issues of magazines for Winter photos! Most of mine came from a House of Fraser gift guide which came from my InStyle magazine and a local magazine from when I went on holiday to the New Forest.

3. Rip, and cut and rip and cut! As you go along, try to place the cut pictures on your surface so you get an idea on how many more pics you need.

4. TAKE A PHOTO. Honestly, once you’ve picked up all the photos to tack them down, you’ll have no idea where they all went. The photo will really help when you get completely lost!

5. Tack them down with a bit of tack (obviously). Try have pics overlapping each other, looks much more Pinteresty (and we all want that, don’t we?!)

TA DAH! How easy was that? I had some nails on the wall already so hanging up was pretty easy. To add a little extra, you could drape fairy lights round it. But be warned, cutting up magazines does make quite a lot of mess…

P1030643 (2)

Ignore that…

Hope you enjoyed this DIY, if you try it out send me a pic on my twitter or facebook. Toodle pops!

Lots of Love,

Lottie ♥
